Managing Inactive General Ledger Accounts within Dynamics GP

This topic came up when three of our senior consultants were performing a site visit with a client and a user asked the question...

”Is there a way to filter or exclude any inactive GL accounts from the Account Lookup window in Dynamics GP?”

Inactivating an account is a great way to discontinue the use of a general ledger account and prevent users from accidently using the account.

Workflow 2.0 Configuration and Table References

With the release of Dynamics GP 2013 R2 and the subsequent release of Dynamics GP 2015 and 2015 R2, the new Workflow 2.0 functionality was introduced and various workflow types were available.  As of the release of Dynamics GP 2015 R2, there are a total of 11 workflow types available for the Purchasing module, General Ledger batches, Payroll self-service components, and the Project Accounting module.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Outlook Client: Upgrading to 2015

If you’ve ever worked with the Outlook Client for CRM, then you know it can be quite finicky sometimes. One issue that I have come across recently is trying to upgrade to the 2015 Microsoft Dynamics Outlook Client. After I got through the majority of the process, this error was displayed (below). There is a link to click to view the log file, but looking through that didn’t do much good either.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Outlook Client: CRM Buttons Inactive

If you’ve ever worked with the Outlook Client for CRM, then you know it can be quite finicky sometimes. One issue that I frequently come across I that all of the CRM buttons are inactive, or grayed out, in the CRM tab. This happens because the Outlook Client cannot reach the server.

The first thing to try in any case of an Outlook issues is to, of course, close Outlook and re-launch it to see if the error still remains. Unfortunately that doesn’t fix most problems, but can be an easy fix to some.

Dynamics GP 2015 R2 Introduction to New Features
