Error Installing CRM if GP 2013 R2 or Higher is Already Installed

Posted: Mar 10th, 2015

I was recently working on an upgrade for a customer from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 and I ran into a few errors.  We ended up doing a fresh install of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 and then importing the organization to upgrade it.  During both the installation and the organization import, I saw this error:

SmartList window won’t open for a specific user

Posted: Jul 17th, 2014

I had a call from a customer running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Sp2.  They were using Smartlist the day before when Microsoft Dynamics GP hung.  The rebooted their computer and they connected again to the terminal server where Microsoft Dynamics Gp was installed.  The user could log into Microsoft Dynamics GP again, but when they clicked on the SmartList icon to open SmartList nothing would happen.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Exporting SmartList to Excel - values have 5 decimal places

Posted: Aug 28th, 2013

After upgrading to GP2013, do some of the field values you export to Excel display differently?   We are seeing some issues when exporting the same reports used in prior version of Microsoft Dynamics GP when exporting SmartLists to Excel.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 SmartList Export to Excel values are 0

Posted: May 9th, 2013

A customer brought an issue to our attention with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and exporting SmartLists to Excel. Using the Employee default to create a new Smartlist, if you add a column called “Vacation Accrual Amount”, in SmartList after that column is added, the values show up in SmartList just fine.   However, when you export the list to Excel the values for this column are zero in Excel. If you export this to Word, the values are there.

Dynamics GP 2013 Fixed Assets enhancements

Posted: Oct 7th, 2012

Some nice Fixed Asset enhancements are coming with the release of Dynamics GP 2013. The Fixed Assets calendar can now be defined using the Fiscal Period Setup, Calendar Year or even a custom year. Custom year? What’s that? You can now build a Fixed Asset Calendar using a short or long year! I don’t know about you but I’ve had several clients who want a non-traditional year for depreciating their assets. I’m very happy about this enhancement!

Certainly the excitement built each day as we saw what was coming in the new release scheduled for December, 2012. What’s coming? Enhancements across modules, performance enhancements, new features, GP WEB CLIENT (yep, you read that correctly), Management Reporter 2012 RU3, MR Web Viewer (October time frame), and so much more!
